The Great Tree

As I look out on the Great Tree,

what secret of life, do I see?

I see a light glowing from within,

A light to which I am akin.

Looking at the bark that protects its life,

I wonder, if that is our protection from strife?

To toughen our hearts just like the wood!

Do you think it would work? If only it could!

No I think not, that is not the way.

This is what the light ahs to say.

Look as I shine to a softening glow,

Renewing the bark, ebbing life's continual flow.

Shining through you, even though you still hurt.

Be still and let it heal. Please don't be so curt.

I am the love that from above HE brings,

when I am in your heart, I continually sing.

No matter what in life you are dealt,

in me there is no pressure under which you melt.

If you will let the light soften you callous heart,

I will pierce you soul swifter than any swift dart.

You will feel and cry and know Love's pain,

but I will heal you and give faith and life to gain.

Your soul will sing to Zion on High.

Your pain I will accept and this is no lie.

Just accept the grace of MY GLORY and POWER,

know my Comfort and Peace each and every hour.

Listening to the light from this great tree,

the light is its protection, this now what I see.

It is fragile and dear and pure as new snow,

all love and peace and beauty that I know,

I owe to it, as it reigns high above.

This true pure light of eternal love.

This truth can be found within the leaves,

follow me now and thus conceive

of a love growing within your heart

as a leaf grows with each new part.

Oh the joyful wondrous life

when in growth there is no strife.

This joyful love should last forever,

but its end we must endeavor.

As in the fall the leaf must die

Love will hurt and you will cry.

But in the Spring as a new leaf grows,

In your heart a new love sows

the seed that will soon begin

this painful cycle over again.

But do not be discouraged, for this I know,

that in the Master's plans, if will just go

there is  a Love that is meant to be

as strong and sturdy as this Great Tree.

A Love for me and a Love for you,

remember this and do not be blue.
